Trying to dial in front shifting on my Nicolai, currently using 9sp SLX crank with 24t titanium and 34t RaceFace rings and a thin bash. I have a frame version with bottom pull high clamp and I did put SLX FD-M667 dual on it - and it just baaarely clears chainstay pivot and chainstay at full compression. And when it does, shifting is not perfect.
Complicating things is that I use 10sp chain. Not sure if it matters.
What would you think is the front derailleur with the most amount of clearance - behind the backplate in particular? And with a short cage. Should I look at SRAM? Will 10sp derailleur and shifter work any better?
