I was riding some trails today and I side swiped a down tree and I am pretty sure I messed up the rear derailleur (or hanger?). It was grinding pretty bad but I was in the middle of nowhere so I twisted it back but it still looks out of wack. Question is, can bike shops usually fix them or do they have to be replaced?
They have a tool that bolts onto the hanger to straighten it back. I prefer to keep the old bent one as backup and buy a new one, much better.
