    BB30 Crank on a BB92 frame?

    Hi all,

I have a BB92 frame (Kona King Kahuna) and I was wondering if I could run a BB30 crankset on it. I know the e.13 crankset has a 30mm spindle and e.13 makes an adapter for BB92 frames (E Thirteen BB89.5/BB92 Adapters & Bearings | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com).

Can I use this same adapter with any BB30 crank or will I run into trouble?

    Thanks!

I don't think it'll work. While the e.13 cranks have a 30mm spindle and will fit in the smaller-diameter shell, they also have external cups so the spindle on the e.13 cranks is quite a bit longer than the spindle on a BB30 cranks.

There are a couple of companies that make BB30 crank sets that work with standard threaded BB's but as far as I know nobody does one that works with a press fit BB shell. I doubt your strong enough to flex a 24mm spindle any way, I know I'm not.

Will let you run the e13 crank. Not for BB30 cranks.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

Gotcha. I was just curious as I've seen a lot of good deals on BB30 cranks and wanted to be sure they weren't compatible.

    Thanks guys

Will this adapter work on an On One Lurcher frame?

I have some e*13 cranks and want to swap them onto a lurcher.

I have just installed BB30/PF30 cranks on a new Intense Carbine 27.5. It works perfectly with parts widely available in the industry.
Because I've only 2 posts (this is my 3rd) I cannot post photos.

    It is sweet.

    ...a few more BB92 BB30 / PF30 adapter

    Smooth as silk.

I have not ridden it yet, but clearance looks good all around, chain-line measures out perfectly.

I'll update as soon as I put the wood to it.

Remember to check spindle length of the crank before ordering!
