    Avid Mech Help Needed plz

Ok, I just snapped in a new set of pad (my first ever) and now I need some help adjusting them. I sorta dialed them in using automotive brake know-how, but now the brakes squeal like mad. Any tips on how to do this properly? I assume there is a break in period for the pads, but is there a way to speed it up so the squeals stop?

Your old pads didn't squeal but your new ones do? Using the same kind? Usually you need to use your new pads a bit to break them in, like a few good downhill stops.
