    Another Thread Size Question:

    Looking for some cool outer nut's for my SS commutter Project and........
    I'm stumped and the guy's @ my LBS are stumped! Shimano hub Axle thread pitch and size I know it's 10mm but whats the pitch? it's not 1.0, and it also looks like a 3/8"x24but it's not! help!!

    Some older Shimano stuff was 3/8" x 26 tpi

    The rear hub is a '98 LX and I'm using a solid axle out of a old (80's) shimano hub and the thread is the same as the cone's in the hub.

    Interesting...a 1998 LX rear should be 10mm x 1mm

    Many older track hubs, including Campagnolo for many years are 10mm x 26tpi. It's a hybrid thread, sort of unique to bicycle applications.

    More modern hubs would most likely be 10x1.

    I try'ed to thread it down a 10x1.0 gauge it was a no go! It kinda liked to go on a 3/8"x24 better but it was not it....
