    Alternative to Campag Chorus BB

First of all, I know this should be posted in the roadies forum, but no-one seems to be logged in over there, and hey, I'm a mtn biker at heart!!

My Campag Chorus BB, is playing up again. I've already replaced the bearings a few thousand miles ago, so figured maybe it's time for a new one. Problem is I'm too tight to pay full retail for one, and all the mail order places that stock them for a decent price (Jensen, Speedgoat, Supergo, Performance) are backordered with no idea when they'll receive them.

Oh by the way, it's Italian threaded 36 x 24, 102 (even more difficult to find)

Any ideas? Can I use an alternative? I heard that FSA make a carbon ti BB which works, but that's even more expensive than Record.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Phil Wood is really your only choice

as they make Campagnolo taper spindles. The FSA model probably has a shimano taper. That said even the bottom of the line Phil Wood costs more than a Record BB.

I know there are some Euro companies that make them too such as EDCO but they usually take a while to get.
