Here's a goofy one for you guys. I just put into service a new (old-stock) rear wheel that consists of an Araya TM-18 laced to a 92-93ish 7-speed LX hub. I've heard that the freehub body can be replaced with an 8-speed part. Is this true?
Gotta tear apart the innards of the rear hub, replace the freehub body.
Then - gotta detension and retension the rear rim to make up for spacing the wheel over a few mm's.
Did it once already. It's possible, but not the easiest thing to do.
Good luck,
JmZ
