Well, with 2x9, you have 18 gears, with 2x10, you have 20. Do you really need that 2 extra gears?

2x9 is good for riders that don't need a lot of top end ( for long downhills), thats why they don't have a big ring. 3x9 is good if you have long downhills, or ride a lot of roads. With 2x9, you can put a bashguard and gain some more clearance, and you can get over logs without wrecking your big ring.

Major difference is on a 3x9, low gear is really low(easiest to pedal). Most 2x9's are like 26x34 lowest. While 3x9's are 24 or 22x34. Unless you ride steep climbs, you should be ok with a 2x9.
With "cross-chaining" 3x9=not 27 speeds maybe more like 22 gears. With 2x9 you have much less cross chaining...

Well the local trails here in Guntersville have some pretty good hills. So I use the low end gears (mostly 2 front ring and 3 back ring) alot. The only reason I asked is I one of those guy that likes to try out pretty musch anything. But I didn't know what I had to gain from it . Thanks

Not all the time. You can get a Shimano non series crankset ( double ) that has 22-36 rings. I have that.
