2x10 XT Crankset (38/26) with SLX 3x FD and Shifters

I´m sorry for asking this AGAIN but most posts seems to be confusing, some give the impression it work some do not, read a lot of posts and seems converting your crankset works but I want to know about using a new double crankset in a tripple system.

Anyway I have my bike with 3x10 all SLX if I stick a new XT crankset 2x10 38/26 will it work or I need a 2x front derailleur? Also how do I adjust the height of a triple derailleur on a double crankset?
