I have read on this forum excellent some recommendations about setting the front derailleur height on 3x9 and 3x10 drivetrains. When posters have asked about 2x9 or 2x10 conversions (dropping the outer chainring and keeping the existing drivetrain) the response has been to leave the FD as is and just adjust the high set screw. This makes sense as the shape of the FD must have been designed to move the chain based on a 42/44 chainring. However, what about the 2x10 specific front derailleurs, such as the SLX M665 and the Sram X9 2x10? Would they be set at a max 36t or bashguard height?
