    2 chainring+bash guard front derailleur set-up

I want to set up an XT 760 crank set with 22-32-bashguard, and an XT 760 front
    derailleur.

How should I set the derailleur height? Should I run it lower, as if the
    32 ring is the "big-ring" of a triple set-up?

Or should it be set-up normal as if the bash guard was the third ring?

Either way, I know to set the limit screws to not allow travel into the bash guard.
I would think that it would be best to lower the derailleur to the 32 ring height,
but wanted to ask, and see if there was a reason not to. Thanks!

The safest thing to do is to leave it set up as if you were running 3 rings, except adjust the high limit screw, as you mentioned. If you lower the derailler, you could potentially run into clearance issues with the swingarm on a FS bike. A lot of that depends on the bike that you are using.

If the bike is a hardtail, then lowering the FD should work OK if there's room for the FD lower on the seat tube.

Run it as low as possible.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common
