    1x10 using Shimano and Campy

Not sure if this question has been asked yet so apologise if it has.
I'm starting from scratch on a new CX/touring bike with drop bars. I don't have any existing parts as I'm new to geared bikes. So I'd like a
1x10 speed with an 11-36 cassette and running BB7 disc brakes. Considering using an XT rear derailleur (medium cage?) and Campy Athena Ergopower 11Speed shifters.
Another forum suggested I'll need a pre Dyna-sys rear XT derailleur for this to work but so far I've had no luck locating one. Bit of a buget build so Sram is out from a $$ prospective. Or is there a better way to achieve what I'm after?

I have heard the Campy 11- Shimano 10 sp will work, with the alternate cable clamp method, I've been using the Campy Chorus 10 to shimano 9 speed on my geared road and cross bikes, I would check the Cyclocross magazine for a little more info, not sure what rear derailer you would need, other then a good enough Mt derailer for the large cassette, also your shifting will be reversed from normal if it's the opposite spring rear derailer, I'm sure most used XT derailers should work, should be able to find one used somewhere.

    Thanks SS Adam.
Yeah I've since found a bit of info which supports this setup. I've ordered the parts and I'll let 'yuz know how it goes.
