10T or 11T derailleur pulley (jockey pulley)?

Need to replace my rear pulleys on a XTR 960 short cage running on a 1x9 with 32/11-34 setup. Anyone know advantages/disadvantages of using a smaller 10T pulley on this derailleur? I can envision that running a 10T upper and 11T lower would straighten the chainline going through the derailleur, but that's really it.

    Thanks.
    B.

I just replaced both wheels from two 10's to 11's on an old xtr 950. Now, my chain skips on the lowest ring in the rear. I also replaced the chain with a 9 speed using an old 8 speed cassette. Not sure what the problem is.

When they started using 11t pulleys it was to increase the lifespan of them. They don't wear out as fast. I'm not positive about this, but I think that the cage design was necessarily changed to accommodate this. I put some 11t on an old XT rear (1999ish) and it did fine...I've heard that others got skip issues when they did this, however.

I wouldn't make the backwards move to 10t even if it ran smoothly....the 11t do last longer.
