    A Zone FR1 Update...
So yea... i've had 5 rides with my Zone in this setup now... It's just unbelieveable despite the fork still needing a little twitching here and there... However, i'm really really happy with how it turned out. I've never had the bike working soooo good before. It's back and raceworthy again with the low weight and it's pretty flickable compared to my last setup but still stays planted on the ground... Though for some reason there's a weight bias on the front which i thought is wierd seeing as how my monster did that but everytime i caught air i wouldnt dive down the way my bike does now... it's more of a putting my body in the front of the bike in the air now atomaticaly... could possible be the lower axle to crown height making my bars lower too... i think it's time for a 2" riser... XD Or maybe thats just an excuse... hahahahaha...

Fork saved me about 3lbs off my bike i think... And it's soooo much more responsive compared to the 02 monster i used to run due to unsprung weight. Note that my Sherman is also devolved which was the key to making it super sensitive... Though the seals are still in need of some breaking in... Soon though, it's gonna be soooooooo siiiiiiiicccckkkk!!!

Galfer pads work awesome... they made my Juicies from good to amazing. Cheap upgrade here and i'd recommend Galfer anytime... XD They never lock up and modulation is awesome without the penalty of braking power... Its just much easier to control now and way more progressive... I have much more confidence in my brakes now and i stay off them more often...

Cranks are nice and lighter. Maybe thats another reason why my bike is more responsive in throwing it around the trail now too... Also the 36T chainring is awesome... Very good medium for bombing highspeed stuff to the tight stuff...

Headset is worn. Fork rocks back and forth on the lower crown... White Syncros Hardcore maybe??? Hehehehehehehehehe

    Next on shopping list...
Headset - Maybe the Syncros Hardcore
BB - To fix my chainline problem due to wrong size spindles on my Howitzer (hahaha, stupid mistake)
Tyres - WTB Dissent... just toooooooo farking awesome!!!

Then in the future maybe a new rear shock... Deciding between ISX6, ISX4, Roco World Cup, DHX5, Revox... XD But thats if i've still got money left over after paying for books, gas, food, etc...

Anyways... Here are some pics of my Zone all dirty... Dont'cha ya love dirty bike porn??? XD

Bathroom scale weight is 40lbs... shaved off 4lbs... XD

Will get a nice white hardtail frame next time... Then run it in the mud!

I like white. Hopefully I could get a nice white Marzocchi 888 or 66 as well!

    And white rims!

Forget the Syncros. Just get an FSA Pig DH Pro. It's like 30 bucks and it holds up extraordinarily well.

How wide are your bars? I'll buy em off of you if they're 28" or longer.

is the FSA Pig DH Pro the one with the cartridge bearing??? Also, arent the Pigs like slightly bigger or something??? My Pig uses ball bearing and is an insanely tight fit...

    Bars are 26.5"... XD

Yes, DH Pro has cartridge bearings. Yes, Pig is 34.0mm. Some companies use 33.9. Take it to a shop, they can face and ream the headtube. But it is fine to press in the Pig DH Pro as is.

poh, the zone is looking sick! Whistler did a real number on my paint, so I'm planning on painting my frame too. def not white though. I will soon make my own Zone FR-1 update, I was going to do something similar but then your thread popped up :p I'll give you some space.

there was a guy at whistler with a flourecent hot pink cove bike...it was actually really sick looking. I've been contemplating either orange with white accents, or green and black. or possible (expencive) black with heavy silver metelflake. something super glitzy :D

So ream out the HT to 34mm then... You already crammed a Pig in... Might as well just upgrade to the Pig DH Pro. They're cheap and durable.
