X-Post: Speed Metal DH '05 DHR Pics

    X-Post from the Turner Forum

A big thanks goes out the the folks at Turner: Dave, Casey, Greg & Co., The bikes are beautiful! I tried to get some shots of how the remote reservoir is mounted to the frame - pretty trick.

    Our DH40's come in tomorrow!

    Enjoy-

This is the second year in a row that Turner has blown it with gay paint schemes. I love their frames, but c'mon!

The Moto-Sticker kit does seem to elicit a love-it/hate-it response from people (even from our team members)... But for me, I like it and the benefits of the Moto-Sticker Kit in terms of protection - that far outweighs what the other half of the population deems as "gay".

I'm stoked to get it built up though... My for DH40 is en route from Portland to Seattle on a Brown truck right now!

In regards to the the piggy back placement, I think it'll be fine... But I suppose only time will tell.

**EDIT** Besides, if you really don't like it, you can just take off the Moto-Sticker Kit.

They haven't ever painted the headbadges on any of their 1.5 headtube bikes I don't think...

Thanks for the encouraging words... I'm still trying to get the visual out of my mind from ledzepp4life's post - I need to go slaughter a pig or something.

LOL - you crack me up... You're in Cali right? I'm sure there's lots of DHR's down there to try out. If you're ever up at Whistler and see one of those red DHR's, come and say hello - we'll see if we can arrange a test ride or something.

Snow up here's really sucked - you Cali peeps got all our rain this year - it's been bone dry and with a few exceptions, the resorts are pretty much closed up. Our team ( http://www.speedmetalracing.com ) is based in and around the Seattle area - so we're reasonably close to Whistler/Shore. Turner has been a great partner and sponsor to us for sure!

There's even rumors that Whistler will be opening up 4/1 'cuz the snow has been so lacking. I very rarely go down to Cali except to hang at my brother's place on the beach in Santa Monica - usually for a weekend or something.

In terms of the Turners being "too expensive", It's not difficult to find a used DHR for a decent price... If you're looking at a V-10, you should seriously consider a DHR (if you're so inclined, the V-10's a fine rig as well) - V-10's are comparable in price to the DHR's.
