Which positions? They should be on the outer flange of the mounting area on the cranks. If you're trying it on the middle area then yea it won't fit.

man, you have less confidence in people than i do

no, for some reason on alot of cranks (meant for multiple rings) the mid position on the spider has notches or something that makes the inner circle a bit larger (had this problem on my Shimano cranks). The solution: just grind off a small amount on the ring to make it fit.

are these triple cranks your trying to mount this on? If that's the case, maybe think abouit getting a single driveside Truvativ DH arm from Truvativ instead. They do sell singles, if you order direct. If not well then I have no idea, all my Truvativ DH rings mount up on my DH Hussefelt and DH Hollzfeller cranks no probs.

geez, a bastard file on the chainring will solve that, or dremel, or whatever.

Zedro is right, I don't think I own a chain ring that hasn't been filed. It isn't much work and it works perfect.

I had the same problem when I setup my old raceface prodigy cranks with a truvativ DH ring and a Mr. Dirt guide. Take Zedro's advice and buy a good file and file the ring down a bit. Or better yet, buy a dremel, or dremel-like tool, to grind the ring down. Chances are if you are into the DH scene you'll eventually need the dremel to jury-rig something up again.

i got it to work finally, i had to file down the granny gear mounts on the cranks and make the middle ring slot bigger to accomodate the DH ring

Hell I have to dremel my bash ring too most of the time to get it fit right.
