Would you see a doctor if this happened to you, or is it not that bad?

My bike lost traction and I ended up falling with my top of my head near my brow hitting a thick tree dead on. After that my head felt like there was a lot of fluid in it, sharp pain in the spot that got hit but it's slowly going away. I'm completely aware of what jut happened, I was just shocked.

Everything else seems to be working right, but my fingers were shaky when I lifted them for a few hours but that went away. Just a tad sleepy.

    Is this serious?

It would be an extremely good idea to see a doctor. You more than likely have a concussion. How bad it is and the possible long term health risks would have to be determined by a doctor. A concussion can range from being minor to being deadly. No one on here is going to have any idea how fast you were going or the real impact your head sustained.

    Did you lose consciousness?

    confusion or feeling dazed?
    clumsiness?
    slurred speech?
    nausea or vomiting?
    headache?
    balance problems or dizziness?
    blurred vision?
    sensitivity to light?
    sensitivity to noise?
    sluggishness?
    ringing in ears?
    behavior or personality changes?
    concentration difficulties?
    memory loss?

If the answer is "no", then I wouldn't see a doctor. YMMV depending on how worried you are about it.

I am no doctor, but you compressed the foam and feel abnormal, not cool.
No idea, what other factors are going on in there.
Get it checked out. Don't screw with your melon.

I don't really know what it's like to lose consciousness, I remember the event clearly. It just felt like my skull got bashed in a area, and I kinda feel foggy after it sorta like theres fluid in my skull. I still do feel that way after 8-9 hours. It's going away very slowly. mild spikes of pain in the area here and there.

After that I got back on my bike, and had to go back to my car to get some rest. I will be honest with myself it was a tad bit more difficult to concentrate, but I just think thats normal since I have a pulsating pain on my skull. I was just a little bit slower than usual.

Also I was a bit sleepy after it, I laid down in my car for a half an hour. But not sleepy to the point where I'm going to pass out.

its Saturday, I would man up, eat the bill and go to the ER. if there is an issue and the swelling that could be what feels like fluid gets worse , worse things could follow. but! be great full! this situation is the prime example of why you should always wear a helmet. the outcome could have been far worse and the helmet more than likely saved your life. use it as a tool to teach others. I'm a huge advicat of helmets

To my knowledge you can't feel the bleeding if its a brain hemorrhage. Your brain could be bleeding and you'll never know it (until you're dead). The fluid you feel is probably just swelling under your skin.

Cuyuna's list is good to go by. Whether you go to the doctor or not be absolutely certain you do not hit your head again for quite a while.

A day has passed and it has significantly gotten better, brain doesn't feel as foggy, and slight pain on the very top sorta feels like its the skull that hurts not the brain.

Id tell you to give yourself an uppercut for being such a d!ck, but in this case dont, just go to the doc

Secondly, it sounds like concussion, which means no brain stimulation whatsoever to help the healing process, ie; no TV, no Computer, no phone, no reading,
    always mad and usually drunk......

How could there possibly be even a shred of uncertainty about this?

    Of course!!!

Like the poster above said - get your ass to the strip club.

    I kid. I kid.

Get in to see a doctor pronto, and work on making better decisions in the future. And never, ever rely on interwebz bullshit for anything as important as your health.

    Good luck.

Yeah. Sleepy feeling? Symptom of concussions. People have died in their sleep after knocking their heads thinking it was nothing.

Compress foam? Yeah...you hit hard enough to do something there. I got a concussion back in March after a bad fall (that I don't remember). The main thing I took away after seeing the doctor is even if you feel fine after a couple days (like I did), if you hit your head again before it heals, you risk permanent damage.

I'm not a doctor, so you should probably see one for a professional opinion.

I will remind you to get a new helmet though. Personally, I would have walked back to my car since the helmet was compromised.
