New question here. Side Show Bob? Scream?

I was checkin out some Banshee Screams on Pinkbike classifieds, and I found this

Sellers description says "2003 Side Show Bob frame. This frame is exactly the same as a banshee scream"

Anyone ever heard of a Side Show Bob? Cause in all my years of biking I sure havnt. I even did some searches and couldnt find anything.

Looks pretty darn similar to the Scream.. gussets, rear linkage, rockers, pretty much identicle.

Looks like a scream to me too.....Ask the seller if it's a scream that he threw a fresh coat of paint on...with a fresh paint job...I'd suspect a couple things...maybe tons of scratches/ dings or stolen..... (yes it could just be plain vanity too)

    BBC & Side Show Bob

That IS a Banshee Scream. Tweaked.....

The BBC (Bowness Bicycle Company) http://www.bbcbikes.com is a small Calgary based company. These guys take rides made by other manufacturers and tweak them. As you ca see on thier site, they have a Kona that they have tweaked and redubbed C.O.P. Special. The C.O.P. Calgary Olympic Park is a small local mountain bike park that offers lift service in the summer. It looks like they name thier creations after local trails because Side Show Bob is a trail located in Calgary city limits.

I think BBC bikes are sold soley through a local bike shop (Bow Cycle). http://www.bowcycle.com I thnk the BBC might be financially backed by this LBS. (shrug)

Maybe....car manufacturers have been doing it for years. I.e. They buy a Mitsubishi 3000, put a Dodge Stealth sticker on it, sell it into the local market with a markup!

    Right from thier site;

Well where to begin? What is the BBC? The BBC is Quality, Value, Performance, and of course Fun. You know how when you go out for dinner and the waitress says the tossed salad comes with house dressing? You know, the stuff the chef makes up? Or how at All American Burger the house sauce is Ketchup and Mayo? Well the BBC is really no different. The BBC is a line of bikes and bike related products that is made exclusively for Bow Cycle.
Working with the biggest and the best in the bicycle industry we will sometimes build bikes from scratch and other times we just make minor improvements to existing bikes on the market, either way the winner is you, the end consumer. This year we took it another step further and added clothing and car racks to our line up. Although we don't have a crystal ball and can't predict the future we're pretty confident the BBC will result in bigger smiles for the kids and fatter wallets for Mom and Dad

    yea

side show bob was out before the banshee scream or around the same time i do beleave as far as my memory recalls. i could be wrong. rented one at COP and its a nice ride. super plush and pedals realy nice. but i can't compare it to a scream becuse i have never riden one. right now i don't think BBC is making a side show bob or side show mel, as the bikes arn't on their web site. i think they are only producing the COP special right now. but side show bob is a leget bike and not some cheep knock off if you were wondering.

I dont even think that's the case....Looks like just a paint job to me.....with a 24 rear end...
the oringinal poster said "tweaked"...I did the same thing you did...and tried to find what's different....cant see anything...except the banshee's paint job looks better ... I would like to make my Chap 7" which I think is the ideal travle amount.... I've never seen anyone run the chap in 4" mode with an air shock....kinda defeats the bikes intended use (in my book)

Looks weird. The chainstays look short.

Yep. Too much meat for a 4" bike but to each his own.

Plus its got the crowns all the way up in the Monster which rakes it out even more and makes it look even more odd.

    is making a comeback.

Turns out that five years of not mountain biking, really makes one strive to get back to it.
