    rear coil sizing problem

i recently purchased a heavier rear coil/spring for my x-fusion glyde shock since my previous one bottoms out crazy easy. the lighter coil is 350x56 and the one i bought was 550x2.25. from what i read scouring threads for hours, 550x2.25 was what i needed for a new coil. when i received the new one, it was way bulkier and just all around bigger. the length of the new coil wasnt that big of a deal but the diameter was the problem. the old coil's diameter was 33mm and the new heavier on is 38.5. i just want a 550 pound coil that fits. im really new at this if you havent noticed. should i just buy a new coil? if so, how can i stop this from happening again?

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Re: rear coil sizing problem

Well 56mm is 2.2 inches. You sure it is not a 200 x 57 shock?

Different brands use a different coil interior diameter. I can't tell you if the diameter difference you have measured is going to be a problem or not, but before you buy a new one just google the diameter of the brand you are buying to check.
