I just picked up a set of these guys for my demo 8. Has anyone out there been using them?? I'm kinda curious to see how they are holding together, a ch wheelset that comes in under 1900 grams is kinda scary...my am wheelset weighs 1700! Finding reviews or opinikns on these bad boys a the web is impossible. I feel like me and steve smith are the only two guys brave enough to try em.

Needs moar spokes. Too bad the rims aren't available seperately in a 32, I'd try them. You have the aluminum rims not carbon, right?

I've been running the 135mm havocs 2011 for about a year now, with great results, albeit its on my AM/Trail bike, I've put them through some pretty heavy abuse and they've been solid.

They dent kinda easy if your tire pressure is a tad low.
I've bent 4 or 5 big ones out and had to increase my normal riding pressure over the old 823's.
But light as all get out.
Running tubeless and not a burp yet either.

what pressures do/did you run?

I was running the front as low as 26.
Now back up to 28+ depending.
But the rear dinged more.
I was running 27/28 but am fully at 30 now.
I weigh 175 and ride an M9.
SB wasn't nice to me. Or my rims.
Oh. On DHF tubeless f/r again.
All good now and way moar drifty.

Yeah me. And they suck. Dented to hell and already destroyed a front hoop. They are super light though. Beware of these things if you smash.

I was really considering these wheels but after reading posts on here and pinkbike's review and comments I might just have some wheels built. It looks like sub 1900g and 28 spokes doesn't hold up for DH long term.

What was the issue?

My rear wheel is bent. Spokes loosened up, re-trued it but its time will come.
But sick light and ride great till they come unglued.

Wheel exploded on my second day of riding it. I said they should fix it, they disagreed. So after arguing for a few days I paid to fix it. Got it back and after a few more days of riding it was all wonky again. And that was just the front. Don't get me wrong, the lightness is super awesome, but they are just butter.

1900g isn't that impressive, especially with only 28 spokes. Here's a lighter, stronger and I think cheaper build:
DT 240 rear hub (AmClassic is same weight and cheaper but I've had problems with the disc tabs), Atomlab Pimplite front hub
32 DT Champion spokes or CX-Rays for less weight at more $$, alloy (my preference) or brass nips
NoTubes Flow EX rims, substitute a 550ish gram rim for more durability and still under 2000g.

Proprietary wheels are usually a pain in the ass and overpriced. Make friends with a wheelbuilder and choose your components carefully.

You just described the exact wheel builds I intended on doing haha
dt 240 hubs, dt competition double butted spokes, dt alloy nipples and stans flow ex rims. The whole thing run tubeless on schwalbe muddy marries 2.35 or 2.5 not sure about the size..
Should be bloody light!

I am considering purchasing a set for my new bike.
I weigh 220lbs and ride somewhat aggressive but I am not overly hard on wheels.

Sounds like you have not returned to your first impressions.
Uncle Cliffy, did you have the same results?
It's too bad that the wheels are so finicky. To get a light weight wheel, I guess another option would be Hope hubs with Stan's Flow rims.

Hope Hubs are a lot heavier than DT240s and it's definitely worth the 40g/rim extra for Flow EXs.

The DT's are also about twice the price of Hope's.
I do agree with you about the Flow's and I should have said the model you mentioned.
