    My first dirt jumper.

Hey guys, so i was refered over here from my thread about my cracked frame on my Hasa Team 5.0 (link: Cracked my frame. ) so i was going to look at getting a dirt jumper. Problem is that i don't jump high, so i don't know how my Hasa broke. Anyway i also like to go down hill on trails too, but i heard dirt jumpers are rough but i don't have the $$ for a downhill bike, nor have i found a decent used one for under $650 aud. Could anyone guide me on what brands to look/stay away for/from? I also want gears as i ride up steep trails to come back down.
EDIT: Feel free to ask me any more questions on preference on my riding style etc.

    My first dirt jumper.

Not sure you're going to find a downhill bike in the recent years in that price range.

Honestly, it sounds like you want a long travel all mountain bike. You won't have any fun trying to pedal a big bike uphill.

Take a look on pinkbike and see what's in your price range. Or maybe you just need two bikes.

Id stay away from a dj designed frame for just trail riding. Trust me they blow ass on anything but dj trails and blue grove 4x courses. Ive done it for years.

But having said that i know about 8 guys who rocked the Azonic Steelhead for every type of riding.
