    Marzocchi 55r vs. DJ 1

I'm new to the forums, so I apologize if I'm posting this incorrectly.

I own an '05 Kona Stuff, and I recently cracked the fork. Instead of repairing, I've decided to upgrade to a 20mm thru-axle fork.

I've been looking at Marzocchi forks, mainly because I loved my previous Marzocchi fork.
I'm between the '09 Dirt Jumper1 and the '08 55R.. these are the only two I can afford.

    DJ1: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...1+Fork+09.aspx
    55R: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...i+55+R+08.aspx

I like the DJ1 because it's very similar to my old "Drop Off". However, it isn't very exciting.

I like the 55R because it adds 40mm of travel than I'm used too, but I'm worried about it messing with my geometry too much, and making an uncomfortable ride.

    My questions:
    1. Would switching to a 140mm fork from a 100mm be uncomfortable for a all mountain/freerider as myself?
    2. How much difference is there in geometry for someone who has been riding a 100mm for the past 4 years?
    3. What would you buy?

    Thanks for the help!
    -Tim

This may be useless info but check the axle to crown measurements of your old fork vs. the new one and not just the travel.... my friends pre 07 66 is significantly longer than my 09 66 (both 180mm travel)

LIke I said maybe this is useless info but if the new one is physically shorter and add to that you will be running a bit more sag on the 140mm travel than a 100, the difference in geo may not be as big as you suspect.

    regards
    Ray
