Looking At My First DH Bike

Tried this under beginner forum but no response yet so I figured I should post here. I have been doing single track for the last couple of years and have recently gone to Mountain Creek in NJ for DH lessons and riding the mountain. I rented a bike there as I didn't feel my EX-9 was suited for DH. I am now looking to add a DH bike so I don't have to rent every time. Just a weekend warrior with my 17 and 20 year olds. I can't buy new so I have been looking on Pink Bike and saw these two. What are your thoughts?

    1. 2015 Giant Glory 2 https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2173631/
    2. 2016 GT Fury https://www.pinkbike.com/u/notpedro/

    Thanks for your input!

The GT will have a longer reach.

The giant feels like you're sitting "in" it, In my opinion.

Both bikes are good for what you're looking for. I personally like the GT better, but either way you'll be fine.

This price point will allow you to upgrade things if you want, but you're not paying up front for things that you donít need. Say you want better brakes-you can spend some money to upgrade. But why bother throwing on a $400 crankset if the stock one is fine?

Either way, you have 2 good choices.

Look for me @Creek. I'll send you a Pm. Ttyl, Fahn

Thanks! I did the DH Experience last season with my younger son and did it again this past Sunday with both my boys. I paid to stay and we closed out the lift. We had such an awesome time I could see getting a pass next season even though I live about 1 hour and 10 minutes away.

Bummer. The Giant was just sold even though I was in contact with the owner and the GT owner hasn't returned my messages.
