I like the sandbagging policies for beginner and sport. This should be standard throughout the sport. $15 entry fees, this is how it's done. No USCF? Gotta love these grassroots races! I would be all over this if it were in Norcal!

Isn't webb kinda illegal with private property access issues near the bottom of the trail?

Doesn't seem to smart to put an illegal race on a public board..?

Yeah...not sure if these people have any idea what they are doing. I 99% sure that trail is essentially illegal, and all ready pretty blown up. Having a race on there is already a bad idea. Hyping it on a worldwide message board is a terrible idea.

Not sure where you got your info from Gemini2k. Webb canyon is 100% public access everywhere. We always check with every city where races are held, and also not an illegal race.

I've talked to many people who have had issues/confrontations with the landowners at the bottom of the trail. When I rode there it seemed pretty obvious to me that the end of the DH trail is coming out onto some kind of private property. Yes the majority of the trail might be on public land, but that doesn't really matter if you have a really big group of people stomping through someone's private yard at the bottom.

Anywhere in Socal that I've seen that had features like that on a public, legal trail has gotten shut down pretty quick.

Again, I'm not 100% certain that the trail is illegal or not okay to have a race on, but I'm pretty sure. I've been mistaken before though! Good luck!

Talking to people is just talking to people, it's all words in the wind. Call the city and you'll get facts, not stories. Like I said, (we cover our selves) we make sure there are no rules being broken before hosting races at various locations. We've held 3 races in the past 3 yrs at webb with no complaints or weird behaviors. Everything is done professionally. You should really come out and see for yourself. Then keep in touch for all future events.
