Good job! Funky Monkey-versus x pics

So i began building up the versus weapon x, and im pretty happy with the way it looking. I jsut recently put on my hayes brakes with the 8 inch rotors (in case you noticed, the wheel on it ahs a 6 inch its from one of my other bikes) and i put the derauiler on and what not. Now im waiting for the grips and BB to ship in.

The other bike is my new K2 i bought. the frame was OLD when i bought it so i sanded it down and built it up for fun. The road tires are going soon, i jsut kept them on because i wasnt riding it seriously or anything.

Tell me what you think about my two newest bikes. Im also working on an old norco VPS and an iron horse yakuza chimpara.

I personally would have put a boxxer or 888 or totem on it but thats just me... I know you wanted the inverted fork so whatever makes you happiest man, it's your bike not ours! Get some action pics once you get it built up. Best of luck!

Versus is still in business. they seem to be doing well and have no plans to stop production as far as I can tell. I have been in contact with Herb in the last few weeks and he was quick as ever with info and was very helpful to answer all my questions. I do however have one for allstartrack22

what type headset do I need for the weapon x frame? zerostack? intergrated? I can not find any info on this. also, what size spacing is the BB shell?

thanks in advance! I can't wait to get my frame built up! it is being shipped tuesday so next week!

My frame came new with an intergrated headset, so im not sure what the limkitaions are for that. As far as the BB goes, youll need a 100 mm bb, i learned the hard way and used a bb from my old bike and it was short by an inch or so. So i think the mesausrments would be 100 by 66?

sweet, I guess I am getting an Intergrated then. I think SRAM makes a 100mm Gigapipe DH BB. I think I will go with that. cheep and burly as hell, kind of like the frame. thanks man. as for now a teaser pic of the new frame!

Trying to pedal that thing anywhere is like pulling a 200lb man behind you. It just doesnt work.

Even riding that bike downhill was a task, not fun. 55lbs is alot to move around between your legssssss.

55lb Versus up hill is like riding uphill with a 200lb 4'3" midget tied to the back on any other bike.

    It sucks.

Doesn't matter. Even going downhill, takes more energy to get it moving and more energy to slow it down and more energy to make it change directions.

    Around 410lbs whet.

But things like 110mph, 50mph stoppies and paying 8 dollars a week for gas tickles my labia in ways a bicycle could not.

And that's all well and fine... You planning on putting some gazzaloddi 3.0's on there

I dunno dude, I rode that bike a loooong time ago when it had it's debut at Sea otter. Just riding it around on flat ground was a chore. And I'm not exactly what you'd consider to be fat lazy or out of shape. The only place that Weapon X has is in coasting down things in a straight line. It pedals terribly, has really bad brake jack, and weighs so much that you'd have to be a powerlifter to pedal it around.

Have you actually ridden the bike before or did you just buy it because it looked nifty and someone told you it was the bee's knees?

Anytime you want we can go on a 40-50 mile xc ride on Coe, Demo, UC, heck anywhere and we'll see who gets done first. On the other hand I do like eating cake.

I HATE hayes stuff with a passion. I had a set of stroker rydes and they were the worst breaks I have ever used. I do however LOVE my Elixir CR's they are amazing, all the stopping power i could want, they look sick and they feel great. they are super adjustable and have never let me down. I would say stick with the Juicys but thats just me

haha alright, i want some hope brakes SOOOO badly but that would cost me a pretty penny. I had a manitou metel in my workshop so threw it on, right now im focusing on completing the bike before i upgrade components like that. I'll probably trash the metel in a week but it'll jsut have to do for now.
