    FTD Foam Inserts

Came across this product and video and thought it'd be great for DH racers and park riders looking for that extra edge. Gwin is winning on this Flat Tire Defender system and for good reason...it works! You are gaining some weight with it but gaining even more confidence and tire failure insurance!

Check out the 2nd video by his mechanic. Really good tire installation system for not only this product, but just how to easily mount up any tire to a rim - tubeless or not. I really like the use of 2 zip ties to hold the tire in place while setting the final 6-10 inches of bead. This can be frustrating without a 3rd hand, but the zips really help!

Obviously the FTD is not for everyone, and is $$, but it could gain you that edge on really rough and rocky courses in races or competitive park riding. Great idea IMO!

I'm more of a Cush core fan just based off of my self assessment from what's available to the public online.

Also discovered "Huck Norris" brand of foam inserts. Less weight and money than the above FTD inserts. Seems like these foam liner inserts are gaining "traction"!

And there is another for punction resistance products that I totally overlooked....the Schwalbe Procore! Good Pinkbike review and overview here....

    https://www.pinkbike.com/news/schwal...view-2015.html

    Positives:
    • Improved puncture resistance
    • More grip, and better rolling speed over bumps
    • Increased rim protection
    Negatives:
    • Expensive
    • Increased rolling mass
    • Another thing to worry about
