    Fox DHX 4.0 question....

So, being new to the DH scene, this is my first rear shock with a coil spring. All my other bikes are just straight air. My question is, I am a fairly heavy rider at 220 pounds, and even with the shock pumped up to 250+ pounds it still seems soft. It's holding pressure, but I can get on the bike and bottom it out easily. Now, it does only have a 300 pound spring and I did order a 550 for it, but shouldn't it still be a lot more stiff or does this shock operate completely different than most of the air shocks I'm used to?

With a coil shock you set sag with a spring instead of air. Wait until you get your spring before set your boost pressure. You boost pressure makes your shock more progressive or less.
