Fox Ambush or Five ten Ba51c

I would love the freerider shoes but there is a story.

My roommates dog ate my Five Ten Ba51c's which were my new shoes. Se he is buying me a new set but i just saw the fox ambush on chainlove for sale in that price range. Are they padded enough and grippy on the base to hold onto platforms?

Why not just get whatever shoes feel comfortable and buy the 5-10 sole kit off their site? That way you get the best of both worlds. but back to your post, I would imagine they would give you adequate grip. What pedals are you running?

those fox shoes are just skate shoes. if you want actual riding shoes id stick with the 5ten's.

Having said that though, i might add that the 5.10 Freeriders feel very comfy for me. The insole is contoured nicely to the shape of the bottom of your feet, and there's plenty of inner padding too. Not sure if this is also true for the Basics, i have not tried them.

Pretty sure the Basics have a thinner sole than the Freeriders, more like an Old School Van's.

SMT, for some reason i kept watching, as if i was stuck in time.

I ride on sunline V-3's and i loved the grip of the 5.10's. if not too much grip. But I know i wouldnt tear up the stealth rubber which is why if i got the ambush's i wanna make sure they wont explode first ride.

Any more takers? here are both for anyone who hasnt seen them. They both have the same type of description of walking/FR but the Ambush does not have stealth rubber and I would like them to last.

I use 5 ten basics as my riding shoe and I think they work fairly well. The sole is stiff enough for riding in my opinion
