eastern night train or specialized p cromo

I am going to be getting a dj hardtail and I would like your advice. I have years of bmx experience and am looking at getting a hardtail. i am a little torn between the eastern night train and the specialized p1 cromo. any comments you have would be welcome. thanks.

Try posting this in the DJ forum. Those arent really DH bikes...

But I would go specialized because eastern products are ****.

    +1

A buddy of mine who rides DH and DJ tore up a Nighttrain in 3weeks. Speci products are known to last.

I bought a Speshy P1 Cromo and ended up trading it in for a Giant STP SS.
The P1 has some odd feeling geometry and was way to short for me.
I'm much more comfotable on the STP.

Since it's in the same price category, I'd throw the STP in the mix. Unless you must have steel that is.

I own a night train. Great bike. I have ridden p's, stps and a lot of other hardtails. I like my night train the most. Shorter chainstays, etc... Go for the p if you are racing four cross and dual slalom, but night train any day for bmx tracks (they are more tame than fourcross), skate parks, and a big one, street. The night train definetly has more dialed geo for technical riding, and dj's. It feels more solid, and is super super easy to manual and spin with with.

I have a night train as of a week ago. I guess The frame has a warranty and a lifetime crash replacement. not to thrilled with the cranks that come on it but otherwise pretty solid.

but the geometry and the weight make it really fun to ride. I ride mine dj's pumptracks and skate ramps.

P bikes are frign diald for DJs but not for anything else really. Im a fan of the P. The night train has a looong top tube unless they changed in for this year. And yes I am also more comfortable on a STP but they have a more do-all-ish slolom type geo. If I was strictly DJing I would rock a P bike all day.
