DSP Racing/Springtime Fox40 & Boxxer Ti Springs
We are putting out a feeler for demand on production of Ti springs for the Fox40 and Boxxer forks. What weights/sizes would you guys be interested in? Would you buy them? Is there even a need?

Heavier and in between weights would be nice option, especially on other 170-180mm single crowns

I think price is key. As long as you're competitive I'm interested.

My OEM ti 40 spring broke and I would have never replaced it with another ti spring if Fox hadn't warrantied it. I know I am need of a ti rear spring as well, they are just so expensive. Will definitely be taking my money to the used market, $300 is too much for a spring. If you can keep your ti springs under $200(what the price Fox branded 40 ti springs sell for) then people would buy it. Offering different spring rates than offered by Fox would be another way to set yourself away from the pack

I would be interested mostly because I seem to be having an issue with my 40 not using full travel, and I think it's due to a too heavy spring size. Wouldn't mind going Ti for that.

I dont have a 40 now, but when I did I broke the Ti spring. I just bought a steel one because the Ti ones were too expensive for me. If you could sell them cheap enough then I would say yes.

The fork can be set at a bottoming out settings when apart. This is what is causing you not to get full travel.

Nice! I don't think Fox makes the 40 soft purple spring in Ti.

Hey Craig,
I'd love to have an extra-stiff (equivalent of "black" spring) Ti coil for my 2013 BoXXer. I prefer coil to air suspension for DH and FR applications, and I think going Ti is a great way to rival the lighter-weight benefit of air.
Is it just me, or would anyone else prefer to see springs rated by the actual Hooke's Law spring rate (lbs/in) rather that in terms of colours which correspond to qualitative stiffness ratings? For coil forks, this would be even simpler than rear shocks since there's no leverage ratio to worry about.
Thanks,
Kurt

Hey Kurt....we never got this project going due to lack of interest.

Thanks for the update Craig. I understand that it would be daunting to produce a batch of springs in various stiffnesses and sizes etc only to have them sit on a shelf. Especially since marketing in the industry has been pushing consumers toward air lately.
If you ever revive the project, I'd definitely be interested.

If I owned a double crown, I would definitely be interested.

I have a few questions. What is the reasons(advantages) for why you are considering doing Ti fork springs? How are you going to manage the abrasive nature of Ti on the interior walls? How much do you know about Go-Ride.com/Renton Coil Spring Fox 40 Ti spring venture? I don't believe they did very well.
