coolio! I'd like to see somebody run a race down the trail that leads from the bottom of the Foresthill bridge that runs into the Confluence trail by the river. That would be sweet.

Well this is what he said in the NorCal forum:

"One of which has a 18 mile downhill and a very hard three mile climb out."

    I'm just sayin', yo.

    Just Downhill

The downhill event is just downhill at mammoth bar. The other events are cross country. It would be nice to just a 18 mile downhill, but this cross country course has 18 miles of hard downhills and some climbing along the 18 miles, then you climb out three very hard miles.Just "DOWNHILL".

Mammoth bar Auburn may be a downhill series?

I am thinking that it would be better to have a three race downhill series over the summer of 2008, What do guys think? After putting this on the MTBR Downhill thread and the Nor-Cal thread and all the e-mails from my web site, which have been over 90 and still climbing ,it seams there is a need for speed out there.

Sounds promising and at a promising location.

This + CHDH + more NORBA + collegiate = a good year of racing in 2008. Looking forward to it!

Hey, count me in for the series. I think it would be a great addition for the local Bay Area contingency. CHDH is still a question mark as far as I know, so anything with more of a "real" DH course would be very welcomed.

Can you give us any info/idea on what the courses would be like? Sea Otter like? Super-D-ish like the CCCx series? or bad as* like CHDH?

    How will it work?

So OK, using MB for some DH races sounds great. I've always thought that it would be damned near impossible to pull off though as all passengers on the shuttles will need to be seat belted in. Maybe a big school bus the passengers wouldn't need to be belted in?
Seems like CHP might be a little tight about how you are going to use the roads for shuttling folks and dropping them off. This of course is assuming that the start will be up high and require shuttling up Old Foresthill/new Foresthill Rd. to the green gate on the right.
    So how's it gonna work?!

I guess there's over 6months to figure it all out. Figure you'd have to have a plan for it by now though it you're already holding meeting with the rangers etc.

Hey Jimmy, I just pmd you with some details. I would love to help out as I was planning on doing the same thing before I opened my shop. It was still on my radar as far as things to do in the future but if you're on it, I would love to help. H

The rangers there are hella chill. We constantly drive out of MB with 4-5 in the bed of the truck, and 7-8 bikes hanging off the tail gate. We pass them where they are posted to collect fees and they just wave. Never had any issue with them.

Any ideas what runs the course would be?

the more downhill races there are, the better. just try to schedule them around other races as best as you can so the thunderbringers can go to all of them.

I'm sure the Rangers are cool with it....I'm curious to know what the CHP will say about that though. I know there could be an issue with everyone staying inside the vehicle buckled up and not being an a$$clown that some people tend to be in large numbers. Ya know the types that will do the very thing they're NOT supposed to do?...
