Damn good Reason to get NWD8

One if not the best segment, production-wise I've seen in a NWD movie:
    <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nuAxrF6U3Uk&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nuAxrF6U3Uk&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

It's a good segment but dh stuff on film is boring IMO.

I guess you have to race it to get it.

yes, I agree DH stuff isn't that exciting.. But that's why I think this segment is so good, it's actually exciting and somewhat captures the speed but also captures all the small stuff going on that you normally wouldn't notice.. the music is also spot on w/the segment..

So cool that video! I like to see fast sections and they show very nice every detail. You have to live it to know the feeling otherwise can be boring looking a mountain biker going on the edge.

Well, I'm of the opposite opinion. I love watching that as opposed to dudes doing cute wheelies around town, and flips in boring DJ parks.

Good to see there's some DH in NWD8; I may end up getting this now. I'll just fast forward through the gymnastic sections as I do with the other NWDs.

Any day of the week. And it's not even because there's no way I'd ever try to boost super huge gaps and flips ever in this life. I'm just all about fast, reactionary DH riding. Watching those pro guys pin it hard through section after section just amazes my senses. There seems like there is always such a constant risk for catastrophic paralysis where the park stuff seems so premeditated and calculated. I know most racers memorize the race courses but still, so many more variables constantly changing.

I agree. When I DH it's all about speed, flow and air. The flow and air combined with riding on the "edge of control" is what got me hooked. Now I'm nothing but a DH junky.

Don't get me wrong, you guys out there that can do all that crazy shiz on your jump bikes totally have my respect, I'd just rather watch good DH footage.

NWD crew has been pretty vigilant about making sure the NWD8 segments don't stay up on youtube. People were posting them left and right on NSMB...

its a oakley film where lopes CG and few other riders go riding in the pac NW.

They disappear one by one, then at the end a bigfoot is riding CG bike clearing a gap

It's pretty cheesy..... I'll not say it totally sucked, but I proabably wont bother watching it twice.

yeah i started watching it and couldn't really stand it.. Lopes should stick to riding on camera, the whole acting thing is not meant to be..

I agree, I don't buy many regular DVD's let alone MTB ones, however if I was to see a snippet and really liked it, if I thought it was worth the cash I would probably buy it. They are just so overpriced here in Australia!

The few I have brought in the past were enjoyable to watch, but not really long term keepers.

Just finished watching it the 2nd time through. You will like the Kurt Sorge section, I personally warantee it

Others of you might say seeing Bourdin eating it on repeated 60 (80?) foot flat flip attempts is worth the price of admission in and of itself.

P.S. It's the best mountain bike video I've ever seen, no contest. Has almost the same raw intensity of ride the lightning but with the production quality at least as good as "the collective" actually better, I'd say

I picked up a copy from my LBS last weekend.

The Bourdon/Simmons part is by far my favorite. That ladder section is crazy.
