    China Peak GRT race

Does anyone know of a better way to get from Mammoth Lakes to the China Peak GRT race? Google maps shows a five hour plus counter clockwise loop. Are there forest service routes, or is the direct route all wilderness?

I'm sure they're trails but with the terrain it will probably take more then 5hrs.

Yeah, you're hosed. Super close as the bird flies, but out of luck with a car.

On another note: does anyone know what trail they are going to hold the race on?? They didn't have a straight top to bottom run last year that you could have a race down. Are they building a new trail?

Only a 20 mile hike plus a boat ride from the road on one side to the other.
