    Not without cutting the spring.

A Fox tech (He didn't seem like he was positive) said it can only be reduced to 170 by replacing another small part in the spring assembly (forgot what he said). He didn't mention anything about changing/cutting the spring

I've read somewhere that it is possible but didn't see any instrucitons on how to do it, planning on raising mine, 170mm to 180mm.

That would make sense if it is really doable because 170/180mm Van forks has the same lowers, the more extended/longer ones compared to the 160's. Please post up if you get details.

Probably the same as any other coil fork. If it is, it could be lowered to 160 without cutting the spring.

    Fox says no:
"NOTE: 36 VAN forks cannot be reduced in travel."

    Under Changing Coil Spring heading...

I'm surprised that no one else has asked this yet; why would you want to do such a thing? And also I'm asking a legit question, not throwing a bunch of smarta$$ your way.
