    888 VF ride height

My 888 VF is set at 170mm of travel, however they are sold with 200mm of travel... Anyway to take it back up to 200mm?

I bottom the thing out quite a bit, I dont know if its due to the setup of the shock, shorter coils inside, ect.

I have heard that you can change the coils, or add more/change oil. Any suggestions?

if you bottom a lot, add more oil, or get a heavier spring.

I have an '05 888RC set at 170mm and an '04 888R set at 200mm. Although they share the same HSCV internals, the cartridge of the 170mm is shorter than the 200mm fork. The only way to increase the travel is to order the 200mm cartidge from Marzocchi. While your at it, might as well order the RC cartridges than the VF so you would have better multiple hit performance.

If your bottoming out the 888VF, you might need to add more oil to address that problem. You can also play with the oil viscosity in order to change the feel of the fork.

    I found this:
    http://manualer.happymtb.org/marzocchi/2005-888-vf.pdf

Which gives alot of good info on tearing down and rebuilding the fork. Which brings up another question... Can I install RC components to give me more adjustablity?
