    2006 66 SL or new Domain 318

Iím looking at a new fork for my Iron Horse 7 point and can get a 2006 66SL or a Domain 318 for good prices. The bike is ridden mostly at a few local freeride parks and Whistler.

    Which would you choose?

    Pros to Domain
    - 180mm travel
    - Coil
    - Reliable
    - Super easy to work on
    - Can slightly tune damper (mod here Opening up the Domain 318 Integrated Speedstack)

    Cons to domain
    - Heavy

    Pros to 66
    - Old school Marzocchi goodness
    - Good quality damper (rc2)

    Cons to 66
    - 170mm travel
    - older needs service
    - heavy for an air fork

I'd say go with the 318. I have a 2006 66 SL and it performs VERY well, but develops stiction in the Doppio cartridge very easily and the maintenance of such cartridge is a bit PITA.

I'd love to do your mod to my fork, but I'm not quite as daring with suspension tinkering as you are.

I do love reading the different things you have done to your forks though!
