New question here. 06 Big Hit 1 Fox Vanilla R Dead

Brought my bike to my LBS for service. I was told my fox is dead. They quoted me a price including their cost to send it to Push of $150. (not sure if it's just the rebuild or the Push upgrade service?)

I have the option to buy a used (online) 2007 DHX 3.0 for under $70.

Trying to stay on budget, is it worth keeping my van r and having it sent out through my LBS to Push, sending it to Push myself, or buying the used shock?

I'd buy the used shock first. I believe $150 is for the factory tuning upgrade, so it depends on what you really want. If you know what you want as far as tuning goes, then go for it I've heard the performance benefits are pretty damn good even for the Van r. But if you're looking to save money, the used DHX 3.0 is a great shock, esp for $70. I have one on my Norco Six, I weigh 220 and it feels like butter.
