New pic after many upgrades.
Not a lot is left stock...
Officially nothing left on it that is stock, just changed the brakes to Avid BB7's :)
That pic from above was taken Saturday ( June 16 ) and the brakes where the only stock part left.
Really enjoying my bike!
why is your response look like a matte finish. i have the same response and mine is shiny did urs came like that?
Yup its a matte finish, 2011 Response Sport all came like that I thought?
anyone with warranty issues here? my Sortie 2 frame just broke... and they say that there´s only a 1 year warranty on swing arms...
Caved in and picked me up a new XE with 20" frame this morning. I had the white one from a year or so back, I couldn't find a 20" frame so I had to get the XL and it was always to big. Glad to stumble on this one in just the size I needed, awesome bike. Been a long time Diamondback owner since back in the day when I had my V-Link 1.0 back in 96, great bikes, had quite a few road and mountain models since then. Here's some new pics of the whip.
Well, looks like i'll have to be a post whore another 5 posts before I can post pics.:madman:
Sick bike, that blue is tight.

The Adjustable preload is a nice feature that helps when your a muscular 215 lbs.;) bike just feels like a straight up dirt bike. I was impressed to find that every bolt and nut on this bike was greased, even the seatpost, most bikes come with next to none. She's dialed in perfectly and shifting is fast and smooth. The Kenda tires look super sick and will work perfectly for the lite trail riding I do, she'll be pampered and imacculately cared for.
Nice looking responses in here! I'm gonna pick up a new fork for mine soon.
I've got a new derailer hanger in the mail, a raceface Deus XC, and some better tires going on it soon. I'm looking for some 780mm bars and a new 130mm fork, and a stinger chainguide.
It will be a 1x and hopefully will rip on the DH when it's all done up.
Anyone have a 18 inch 08 or 07 frame? Absolute silver or Burnt Orange? I really want one really bad.

So I am now on my 3rd response, everytime I sell one for parts for something else I come back to this bike. Lesson learned to stop selling these! Ive had a 09 response sport, and a 11' response.
Anyways I found a 2011 Response Sport on CL for a good price, and will be building off this bike to make it my fun everyday bike.
Also found a good deal on a brand new leftover 2011 Fox F120 RL 15QR :)
Trial fit, waiting on brakes, 15mm wheelset, and headset
For the above bike ^^
15mm Wheelset shows up today, along with my Stroker trail brakes and FSA Carbon ZS headset, should get it put together soon!
Just ordered Alligator 180mm front and 160mm wavy rotors also.
Havent even riddin this bike once... :P
My second Response xe build, still need a lighter fork though.
Here she is all finished up,
2011 Response Sport
2011 Fox F120 RLC
Hayes Stroker trail 180/160
FSA Carbon ZS headset
Thomson Elite seat post
Alex SX44 wheelset
Race Face Evolve bars
Stock drivetrain and tires need adressing
will be posting some pics of my 2006 once my post count gets up....
Alot of nice bikes on here. Ive found the response to be a great hardtail that ranks up there with the big boys. Ive pounded on mine since 2006 with no problems....Of course The only thing original on mine is the frame, seat, and seat post.
Nice looking bike there DMehalko, what kind of headset did you put in? Is it 1 1/8 threadless zero stack?
At last after getting over the 10 post limit hump.....
Here is my 2006 Response. Picked her up from the back of a Sports Authority that was gonna throw her away because it came with missing parts.
-Cane Creek Sealed Wheelset (Not in production anymore...but very good so far)
-Chris King headset
-Truvative Hussefelt Bars
-Shimano XT Crankset
-Shimano XTR Front Derailleur
-Shimano XTR 9 Speed Chain
-Shimano XTR Rear Derailleur
-Shimano XTR Cassette
-Ceramic Bottom Bracket...got it from a local team rider forgot the brand. But he rides professionally so Ill take his word for it.
-Azonic Sealed Team Pedals...(Found at swap meet, apparently only offered to team riders)
-Rock Shox Recon 351 fork....Steering tube too small currently looking for a new setup or to do the daunting pressout everyone says to avoid.
-Maxxis Advantage Tires....my favorite tire ever.
-Avid Mechanical Brakes....(Yeah yeah I know- But For some reason Ive never felt the need to upgrade. I always keep the cable lubed and setup right and had no trouble braking) I will be going Hydro eventually.
So here she is....Shes no $4500 bike but I have a lot of fun on her. Im in the Northern VA area so riding fountainhead alot on a hardtail is starting to be a pain. I hope to someday get a 2nd rig that is full suspension... preferably a Mission frameset.
COMING SOON: New seatpost and seat since they are the only thing on the bike thats stock left. Hydro brakes maybe. Bigger tire size when the this set goes out down the road.
Click pics for bigger dreary colored versions from my cell phone....(Sorry!)
