HAHA! Holy crap I cant believe I haven't realized that's still on. So for wheels I'm thinking Stans Arch with a Nevegal 2.35 stick-e front and Slant Six 2.1 dtc on rear. Im really digin the fork its amazing the difference it made in weight and feel. I just need to figure out how to add the spacers to adjust the travel. 140 is a bit much for the trails a ride.

Where did you get your forks? I have been thinking about getting a set of sector RL's for my response sport and I'm not sure what one I need to fit my stock wheels.

Go with Stans Flow Rims, they are wider and run tubeless much better. DT db spokes, Hope Hubs Run the 2.35s and love them front and rear

Thanks MrAitchGee, now if you lived a little closer I would give you a great deal on the bike. I purchased it used in the spring and after a while realized that it was a tad to small for me. It is an 18" frame. I went and purchased a new Trek 6000 since and all I do with the Diamondback is pull the kids ride behind bike with it. I like the response frame, looks and design. Take care,

Just ordered some new Pedals and Grips. I have been looking at a new fork upgrade but I am not sure what I want. What are some of your suggestions? How much travel is suggested for average single track use?

I've been enjoying my rock shox reba rlt at 100mm travel. I'd recommend a reba or reccon gold for that price range. What are you looking to spend?

    DB Response XE

Heres my ride...Not sure of the year model, but got it at a pretty good steal off of craigslist. I have upgraded the rear deraileur and both shifters. Added a cateye bike computer, and my old WTB saddle from my previous ride. Future upgrades(If I decide to keep it) will include a GOOD set of disc brakes, wheels, and a new fork, bars, and stem.

I may sell it if the new bars and stem do not help the geometry much...truth be told, the bike feels just a touch too big as it sits...

Edit: I don't have enough posts to show pictures...so once I get to 10 posts, I'll throw up the pic.

Anybody have much 100mm fork experience on these?

All i have added so far is a race face bar and stem, EA70 seat post, WTB rocket V seat that I had, and about to install x.7 shifters and 2011 Stroker Trail brakes (On sale for $64.99 at pricepoint!!)

Just bought a decent bike so i am getting back into the sport, found an 08 DB response sport on eBay for $200 so i took a chance and bought it. It looks great so far, just put it together but it has a flat tube so I can't test it yet. So excited! I also just joined this website since I got it, great stuff in this thread. I am a beginner though so i don't know all the parts/lingo. Learning though!

That looks to me like a custom frame modification. Maybe the previous owner needed a little bit more length out of their seat tube because they didn't purchase the right size for themselves. It's definitely not how the normal Response frames come.

Here is my 2011 I snagged, missed my 09' a lot so i needed another, and I have a particular build I wanted to do on one so I grabbed a plain response. Suprisingly impressed with its performance with a entry level build kit on it. That is all going away soon

Here is a quick pic of mine. Its a 2011.

    I have so far..

SRAM x4 Rear Derailleur w/ KCNC red gears
    Ergon GC2 Grips
    Avid FR5 brake grips
    Sunlite pedals
    Sigma 1009 Computer
    Bontrager XR1 rear/ Bontrager xr3 front tires
    Salsa Flip off's skewers
    Bontrager seat pack

Will have on by next week...

    FSA XC-300SL wheels 24 hole
    SRAM x4 shifters
    SRAM PG 850 ( 11-28T ) cassette
    SRAM PG850 chain

I wanted to make it 24 speed, and drop some weight. The wheels and tires help tremendously.
