    Sortie 29er platform as a.....

Hey guys and gals. Wondering what you all would think of a Sortie set up toward the xc race bike side of things as opposed to a true trail bike.
Basically a racer on the week end and training on trails a couple times during the week.
Can anyone vouch for any Sortie set ups for xc racing?

I don't see why not, it basically is an XC bike. The Missions are more of the all mountain/trail bikes.

I suppose that if you're really serious you could maybe find a lighter wheel/tire/tube setup, a 1x drivetrain would shed some weight, the fork travel may be able to come down some with spacers, and you could swap out the bars/headset/seat post for something carbon. That would make it even more towards what it sounds like you want.

Just go race it. Unless you can't make it fit your body right, setup's the biggest variable. Maybe tire selection.
