    should i get a Recoil??

so i have a chance to get a 11' recoil comp for 635, brand new and all stock...

is it worth it?? i was looking to stay under 1000, i would love a sortie just out of my range,

so is it worth it? easy to upgrade??

or am i gonna regret not spending the extra and going bigger??

Save a little extra and go bigger. The suspension design difference between the recoil and the knucklebox used on the sorties and missions is huge. With a sortie, there's a lot of room for growth on the bike and upgrading.

On the other hand, how long have you been riding? What's your experience with mountain biking? If you're brand new to the sport, then go with the recoil. If you have a year or so of trail riding experience under your belt, then go with a sortie.

If your budget is around $1k, then I would recommend spending as close to that as possible.

well i am starting out...but at the same time i want something to grow in, something i can keep a while and upgrade as needed.

after some more thinking, i think i am going to save a bit more and get a sortie 1.

As new as I am to the sport, this makes a lot of sense to me...given what I have picked up from others and this forum. Get all you can of what you can lay out.

By the way, I do have a recoil and like it a lot except for tooling around through the neighborhood. A hardtail with a lockout fork is loads easier on my old legs.
