You should contact Diamondback support about the crack in the Sortie frame, they have great support and will most likely discount a new Release bike just to keep you as a customer:)

Yeah...even with all discounts I'm aware of...$2800 is about as good as you can get the Mission Pro for. Great deal for sure. But too much bike for me. Honestly the Release 3 is probably more bike than I need...lol

    How does the Catch ride?
Have you used it on any technical trails?
What I like about the DB Catch is if you don't like the 27.5+ thing, you can always put some 29er wheel on it:thumbsup:

The Catch is great and this past weekend it's proven to be very versatile. I do mostly XC riding which is where the Catch shines but last Saturday me and a couple of buddies rode some downhill trails at a local ski resort called Mountain Creek Bike Park in northern NJ. Granted we stayed on the green and blue trails but the Catch held it's own with the stock 130 mm of travel. Of course I can increase the fork to 150 mm of travel but like I said, 99.9% of my riding is XC and the fork as it is more than capable. If interested I can post links to some videos I took of the Catch at Mountain Creek. I also have some other videos of the Catch at some other parks where I do my XC rides. Got some vids of my Mason also. Some are taken with a stabilizing gimbal but most are not.

LOL. OK, here you go. I will warn you I'm not the best videographer and I pointed my camera a bit too low at Mountain Creek but you get the point:

This is our very first ride down the mountain and we're all on our XC bikes. The guy with the full face helmet is riding a 2016 Diamondback Release 3:

Then we went from the green trails to blue trails:

And one more. All 3 are from the same bike park and all are green and blue trails:

Yea, every time I crash I tell myself that I am to old to be doing this stuff.

    Watch out!
Sortie? Make sure you don't get any crack, I have the sortie 3 2008 and I have a crack probably due to all the drops, jumps and other thing I do. And it also might be because it is almost ten years old. Check around the top tube because that where I got mine:madman:. Good luck:thumbsup:

    Yep always check the head-tube, down-tube/BB, chain-stay & swing-arm for cracks.
The last couple of bikes I have owned, I have had no issues with the frame cracking or braking. I think this is do to better frame manufacturing and welding process over the last 8 years. It also could be I am getting older/slower and don't punish the frame as much anymore.:ihih:

I use a Camelbak when I ride. The bottle on the bike is my tool storage. Being low is good for center of gravity. As a water bottle location, I think it is a little low but better to have it than not.
