    Just a Feeler

Hello All... I am considering selling my small 2009 Sortie 2 w/Fox Float R and RP2. It is pretty much stock except the cranks are now Race Face Evolve's. Where should I start on price? What is the market? In great shape and only rode 1 summer.

eBay and pinkbike are the best places to research used bike prices. I'd say start around $1000.

May I ask why you are selling it? Unhappy with it or something? This is one of the bikes I am looking at. Its a new leftover.

Another question, what fork is on your bike....just curious. Thanks.

It was a great bike. I bought it as my first bike to get into things and now have something else. The fork was a fox 32r.

It sold in a week on Craigslist.

Good to hear. What did you upgrade to? It sounds like you had it at a good price to move it.

I don't think it was price that sold this one. The lady that bought it did so because it was Orange??? Anyway.. I now ride an Ibis Mojo SL..

Hmmmm I have the same Question...

I have a 2010 Sortie Black Custom Build that is going to be for sale in a few weeks...

It's certainly not that I don't LOVE the Sortie, but I "lucked" into a longer travel boutique bike recently that I have been lusting over for 3 years and I really only need one bike.

My sortie is great, but the longer travel and slacker HTA of my new bike is a little better for rocky Colorado...

My Sortie Black is Size large with the following parts spec:

Shock: RP23 with boost valve (top of the line)
Fork: Magura Thor 140 (travel adjust, 20mm thru-axle)
Fr Wheel: Mavic 819 UST rim laced to a Hope ProII 20mm TA hub
Rr Wheel: Mavic 819 UST rim laced to a DT 340 star-ratchet hub
    Tires: TBD
    Crank: XTR M970 crank 3x9
    Rr Der: XTR M952
    FT Der: SRAM X7
    Shifters XT 9sp
    Cassette: XT 11-34 9sp
    chain: SRAM 970
Brakes: Hayes 9 carbon w/180 rotors
    Post/Stem:Truvativ Race
    Bars: Easton Haven lo-riser
    Seat: WTB Silverado.

Everything is really well cared for and maintained.

I was thinking/hoping of like $2200, but don't have a sense yet. I think there's easily $3300 in the bike, but who knows these days....

Any clue what it's actually worth?

    Thanks..

    Anyone?

Any DB people have an idea what it might be worth?

    Thanks!

PS - the bike in the picture is the first version not showing a few upgrades that are currently on it - like the XTR crank, etc....

I don't know what your Sortie is worth. I think an interested buyer would pay a nice amount for those specs - you just have to find that buyer. If you're not in a hurry, make your price at the upper end of what you're willing to accept and lower as needed. That's what I've been doing with my Mission frame. Not that it's been working so far...

Hopefully you find someone with a bad case of springtime UGI.

You should be able to move that on PB fairly easy with that component set. Plus you can avoid the eBay fees. If you can't get your asking price complete, might be worth more to part it out.
