    Help! New Scapegoat owner....

I just picked up a brand new 2011 scapegoat frame, I'll be transferring over all my components from my current rig that's running a 160mm fork to the goat. My question is, am I able to run a 160mm fork on the goat, will this effect the bikes characteristics since it comes complete with a 180mm fork? Any input is greatly appreciated...

It will affect the handling characteristics a little bit. The head angle and seat angle will be slightly steaper. The bottom bracket will be a little lower. Depending on the type of riding you do this may be a good thing. It will make the bike stear a little quicker and drop your center of gravity. It'll probably ride similarly to the Mission if I had to guess.

As I have not ridden a 'Goat configured as such I would like to mention that this is all speculation on my part.

Thanks for the reply, I ended up getting a tapered180mm Durolux rc2 fork. Just waiting for it to get here and my build will be complete.
