New question here. Diamondback Mission, who's got one, what size and what do you think?

Looking to get a 2013 Mission, but can't find anywhere around Portland to test ride one. I am 6' 2" and a bit with a 35" inseam, should I go for a Large (19") or an X-Large (21")?

I test rode a few other bikes (Specialized Enduro and Santa Cruz Nomad) and the Large felt better the the XL, but I know they all size different.

Any taller Mission riders, what size do you guys ride and how tall are you?

I have a mission, and at 6' 2" I got the XL. It's a perfect fit when you shorten the stem down to 50/60mm; which is a must. honestly, there is very little difference in top tube length between the two, I believe it's under 1". You can tune that with stem length.

The difference is in seat tube/leg length. I have about the same inseam and don't like my saddle jacked to the moon like it would be on a large. The XL is just right for a dropper post, gives good extension for climbing, nice low drop for descending. Not too much post sticking out to bend it in the frame.

XL is also nice to keep your weight in the middle of the bike. Good for all mountain riding. If you like to get back behind the rear wheel and throw it around like a downhill bike, you may want to go smaller with the large.

I am 6'1" and have an XL (2010) with a 60mm stem. It seems pretty comfortable to me.

Sortie comp all the way! I bought the sortie comp and my friend bought the mission, he is wishing he spent less and purchased a sortie.

He didn't ask about the sortie, so what's the point. Your buddy bought a knife when he needed a fork, irrelevant.

    I'm 6'1 and ride a large.

He said he was "thinking about" getting it, I was putting my 2 cents in. Sorry Forum Master.

I need to see an optometrist...I keep reading "looking to get" and not "thinking about"...

And the other bikes he test rode, the nomad and enduro, not something you'd cross shop with a sortie.

    Apology accepted.

I'm 5'11" and I have the large, for you I'd say the XL. Also, shorter stem is a definitely recommended, I threw a Hussefelt 60mm on mine, turned it into a much more responsive machine.
