Can it accept a rigid fork?

Hi guys! I have a Diamondback Response Sports '09.
Because my fork (Spinner Edge 1) broke, i wanted to upgrade my fork.
So my question is: Can my bike accept a 80mm rigid fork in place of my 120mm Spinner Edge 1?

Reason is that i seldom ride off-road and a rigid fork may be a better choice.(And its light too!)

I have a friend that has a sweet SS Response with a Surly 29er rigid fork, geo feels really good and bikes flies. you could put a Niner Carbon fork on there too! Running that shorter fork is going to really drop the HA angle and will ride a little funny, but I don't think that bad if you ride on street only.
