    Actual price paid at LBS.

I'm new to mtn biking and just recently went through my department's bike patrol school, now looking into riding as a hobby too. I'm looking at a couple different brand bikes, with one being Diamondback.

Two models I'm interested in are both 2013, one being the Overdrive Comp and the other the Overdrive Pro. I know what MSRP prices are, but do you guys actually pay sticker price for them, or will the LBS work with you? Just trying to get a feel for what I'll actually be paying.

I can't speak toward buying from the LBS but in Jan. 2012 I bought a 2010 Overdrive at Sport Chalet for $349. It had been forgotten about in their back room and they wanted to unload it. It retailed for $699.
Also last week, my uncle picked up a 2012 Recoil 26er at Dick's Sporting Goods for $349. It was another closeout that had been on the shelves for a while and was marked down from $699.
I know neither one of these bikes are as nice as the Overdrive Pro or Comp, but if you can find one of those at a sporting goods store you might be able to get a deal. I know Dick's lists both of those models on their website so you might be able to find them in the store.

Thanks for the reply. I can get the Overdrive Comp for $600 online with a law enforcement discount. I don't really see a deal better than that anywhere else. I'd like to support my lbs, but I don't see them offering a deal anywhere close to that price
