I really want the 26. I love the blue. I know it's far from the best but would love to have one.

Just picked up a Response XE 26er for my first beginner bike.

Only pic I have so far haven't gotten to take it to the pump track yet but hopefully will get out there this weekend.

So far I love it. I've put 3 miles on it over the past two days. I have a small park with a paved trail and I rode it and then played around in the park with it. Going to try and go to the PumpTrack this weekend. I'm a complete noob to Mountain biking so I have a lot to learn. But luckily my area is a great area to ride.

I probably have 85-90 miles on mine so far, I took mine to my lbs and had them do a tune up on it. Yeah same here just getting back into the sport and getting more into there is a lot to take in but it's so awesome.

I haven't taken mine to a LBS yet only thing I have close is an REI that I know that does tune ups on them. I'm sure I have a small business shop somewhere but idk about them bc I'm just getting into the scene.

with lbs you have do some homework and ask people who are into cycling and get their input. Or you can do what I did I went in talked to the guys and they were more than happy to give me the heads up and useful information and generally you'll notice that they are pretty cool. I took a cheap Genesis V2100 in for a tune up and the owner was like "hey if you go on to groupon you can get it the tuneup half off" who does that now a days? They were awesome and didn't rag on the bike and when I got it back from them she rode a million times better that was bike that I rode around just for commuting to work and what not. I ended up selling to the maintenance guy who works in my apartment complex.

Cool deal man, I'll check into that. I'm sure guys at the Pumptrack will be able to recommend somewhere. I know the guys at DSG did an inspection on it and helped set the front forks before I left with it.

Awesome there you go, yeah they do that to avoid any lawsuit in case you get from riding on the bike. Although some of the guys really know their stuff because they actually ride and some of them are there that just do the training but don't ride. So it's kind of hit and miss as far as the bike techs go. The first thing I did was took off the reflectors and that stupid plastic piece in the rear wheel I dubbed that stage one weight reduction lol.

    I've got the blue!

Just got a Diamondback Reponse XE 26"

I know it doesn't meet the "bike snob" criteria.. but for $300 a lightweight bike with disk brakes, rugged tires, etc... well for me, it works great! (Being I haven't rode in 20 years... I'm amazed at how far bikes have advanced.) I've put a little over 60 miles on it the week I've owned it. A combination of street, path, and trails....

2014 Response XE 29er and 26er first photo!

Mine is the 29er, I've have some issues with it, but have been upgrading since probably March or April, I bought it in feb....for now, my build list goes:
    -Sram x4 groupie
    - rockshox Xc32tk solo air fork
-Shimano un55 Sealed bottom bracket (first thing to fail)
-Brm446 shimano hydro brakes (awesome upgrade for the money)
-Crank bro mallet DH pedals (another awesome upgrade)
-Easton havoc carbon handlebar, with odi rogue clamp on grips...

I'm about $1000 in, including the purchase of the bike, I bought it for about $500, I'm pretty much done with the build besides regular maintenance and such, great bike so far...
