I was on the DB website earlier today I saw a picture of this in another color. There was also a picture of a black Overdrive Pro, and Podium 7 SRAM Red...
...I went back an hour later and the pictures were gone!
When I sold my Scott genius(great bike) I asked myself what kind of bike do I want. I did not want a 29er because the wheel size does not fit my style of riding. I did not want a 4 to 5 inch travel cross country bike. I wanted a bike with at least 150 mm of travel and 34mm stanchions. A true all mountain machine that eats up the down. It does need to go up as well. I lo...oked at all kinds of brands and decided to go with the 2013 Mission. Here are the spes.......
Tapered Head Tube Knuckle Box Technology,142x12mm E-Thru Axle rear and 15QR Thru Axle on the front.
Fork= Fox Float 34 with 160mm of travel and the new CTD mode
Rear= Fox Float with 160mm of travel and the CTD mode
Drive train starts with a 2x10 Race Face crank with Sram,Shimano shifters and derailleurs .Brakes are Avid Elixr 5s with a 200mm rotor front and 180mm rear.
Combined with 32h AM260HD Doublewall Disc rims and Kenda Nevegals 2.35 tires.
Ok I have put 2 great rides on this bike. Ride one 18 mile Fisher Creek loop. Ride two 9 mile Space Cruz. This bike climbs great for a Am Bike. The Fox suspension works excellent. The CTD feature allows this down hill monster to climb very well. Once up top, there’s very little to stop the Mission. Both front and rear suspension do a great job of soaking up big single hits, sustaining speed through rock heaps and dealing with stutter bumps.
There’s no over-travel, wallow or twang – it remains precise and predictable whatever you throw it at. With gravity powering it, you find that weight means it doesn’t get thrown off line or bullied by the trail easily. Consequently, it’s fast. Its sick fast going down and feels like a solid tank. Very stiff and very fun. I was looking for every hit and bump. If you like going fast on great single track or rocky bumpy jump inspired down hills. This bike is perfect!!!!!

please give some info on this bike, how you like how everything performs to you im looking at this exact bike for an all mountain and being able to take to downhill riding. DO you think this is a capable bike for this
This is a great AM bike. I would take this bike to the park and do downhill on it. It was made for it. My review above is spot on. This bike can handle it all. I have the 2013 Mission not the pro and for the money I dont think you can find a more capable or better speced bike. This is one great ride. Go buy it you will not be dissapointed.
WOW, so just got off the phone with Diamondback and im shocked, the 2013 mission isn't gonna be available till FEB 2014. I was gonna get one off promotive website but looks like thats not gonna happen. Not sure how they stay in business if they wont have any bikes coming in for 4 months. What a shame really wanted to get on one of these.
At $3,300 MSRP, I was hoping to get the bike much less than that.
