    2011 DB Response Sport

Picked one up yesterday as a begginer bike, and the deal seemed pretty good ( $489 cdn) at Sport Check.

Planning on some upgrades though. But unsure as where to start on this bike in terms of parts.

    My thoughts are :

    1. Tires and wheels
    2. Pedals

    To start...

    Suggestions for this ride?

    Frame: Butted 6061-T6 aluminum
    Shifters: Rapid Fire Plus Alivio
Brake Type: Hayes Mech Disc HMX-4
    Suspension: Front ( RockShox Tora 289 )
Front/Rear Derailleur: XCC Suntour / Alivio
    Rims: Front - Weinman XTB-26 14 x 32h alloy / Rear - Weinman XTB-24 14 32h alloy
    Tire Type: Mountain (Front - Kenda K881X / Rear - Kenda K891X)
    Saddle: WTB Pure V Comp
    Pedals: FPD NW-336D w/boron axle

Mine is all stock and I plan on riding like that till I break something, have had it a little over 2 weeks and have put about 40 miles on it. The fork sucks and I will be upgrading it first. Next will be the crankset. then handle bars and so on. I love this bike, to me it is like a rifle. I love finding great deals on rifles and then tearing them apart and building exactly what I want.....Blake

Funny thing with the forks, I've noticed that the "stock" parts are different for the same model year from different places. ie mine are the Rockshox Tora's but I see some come stock with the Suntours... any reason?

Nope not the comp model. And the Rockshox aren't that great either. I find them pretty squishy and they cant be locked out it seems. Tora 289's.
